The Kaleidoscope of Care: recruitment, retention and fair working practices in the adult social care sector

Throughout 2018 recruitment and retention challenges have intensified for care home and care at home organisations throughout Scotland. Recent Scottish Care workforce research projects have identified that there are many reasons why fewer people are choosing a career in adult social care and more people are deciding to leave the sector.

At this free workforce event we will explore the 4 R’s employment journey – recruitment, regulation, representation and retention - through a human rights lens to generate discussions and solutions to current workforce challenges. An exploration into the fundamentals of fair work, for the employer and the individual employee, will be undertaken and this will be linked to expectations set down by the new health and social care standards and SSSC regulatory requirements.

If you would like to attend please email Paul – paul.oreilly@scottishcare.org directly indicating how many spaces you would like to book (max 3 per organisation).

This event is open to all Scottish Care care at home, care home and housing support members and is relevant to directors of services, managers, supervisors and front line support workers. There are only 60 spaces available for this event and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. We anticipate that this event will be extremely popular so would therefore strongly advise you to book your tickets as soon as possible.
