Scottish Care Membership

For the attention of the few providers who are not members of Scottish Care and who are thinking strengthening the team.

The work which Scottish Care has undertaken since its inception in January, 2000, has helped shape the future of care in Scotland and this could not have been achieved without the loyalty and support of the vast majority of care home owners in this country. This is a direct appeal to you to join us as we increase our efforts to represent the growing care sector at a time when demands on a finite government budget have never been greater. It is only by joining together to show a united front that we will impress the legislators of our right to a secure and profitable future.

Our membership fees have always been modest and are clearly set out on this site.

Membership brings with it some very tangible benefits, such as:

(a) Disclosure Scotland: as the authorised signators, Scottish Care can save its members the £150 fee charged by Disclosure Scotland to become registered;
(b) A free telephone legal helpline is now in place with one of the country’s leading law firms, and you can speak to a senior lawyer about any matters concerning care law for 20 minutes free of charge;
(c) A free e-mail service on all fire legislation is available from a senior fire chief;
(d) A Bulletin, produced every two months, which highlights opinion and news from the sector, is sent free of charge to every member;
(e) Members save £60 per capita, over non-members, when they register for our annual Care Conference in November;
(f) The much proclaimed Scottish Care Awards, likely to attract 600 people in November, is open only to members;
(g) As a member, you are eligible to join your local branch of Scottish Care and make your views known to whoever is elected from that branch to sit on the policy making National Committee of Scottish Care;
(h) We have a commercial division which will offer benefits to members only.

We hope we have persuaded you to give serious thought of becoming a part of a movement which must, if it is to succeed further, gain even more momentum, and that can only be achieved when Scottish Care can claim to represent all care homes.

If you have any queries then please do not hesitate to get in touch with me when I will be pleased to answer them

Yours sincerely
